F.A.S.T. Mnemonic for Stroke

Signs and Symptoms Stroke

• Paralysis, partial, or total. • Inability to communicate properly or at all. • Inability to control certain muscles. May be isolated to one side of the body or affect both sides. • Abnormal response to Cincinnati Stroke Scale Rapid transport to a hospital and special drugs can reverse the effects of a stroke but time is critical. If you suspect a patient with a stroke, do not delay activation of 911. Note time of Signs and Symptoms onset.
