First Aider in Action: Part 4 Since you witnessed the event, you are certain there is no head or spinal injury. You carefully roll the patient over on his back and immediately his noisy breathing becomes quiet although it seems a bit fast. A quick scan of the body shows the patient is slightly pale and covered in a cool, clammy sweat. There is no obvious sign of bleeding. The woman tells you the ambulance is on the way and asks what else she can do. The building is close by and offers a cool environment, but there are still only two of you and you do not want to attempt moving the patient yet. The woman has a portfolio in her hand so you ask her to fan the patient. You show her where to kneel so she naturally shades him from the sun. What will you focus on in the secondary assessment? What additional aid can you provide now based on your assessment?
