3 Airway and Breathing

Follow the manufacturer’s directions for used devices. Place the auto-injector back in the storage tube. Give the used auto-injector to Paramedics or hospital personnel. In case of accidental injection to yourself or another person, remain calm and seek medical help.

Signs and Symptoms of Anaphylaxis • Generalized hives, itching, flushed skin • Running eyes or nose • Swelling of the lips, tongue, mouth • Swelling of the throat, difficulty swallowing • Difficulty breathing, hoarseness, wheezing • Cyanosis (bluish colour in the lips and face) • Rapid heart rate, anxiety • Swollen limbs • Nausea, cramps/abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea • Altered LOC
