8 Muscle, Bone and Joint Injuries
No Splinting Material • Pad between the legs with a blanket or similar. • ‘Buddy’ splint the injured leg to the uninjured leg with bandages. • Avoid passing a bandage directly over the injury. With Splint Material • Pad both splints and position them along each side of the leg. • Secure the splints to the leg with bandages. • Avoid passing a bandage directly over the injury.
Alternatively • Pad a single splint and position it along the outside of the leg. • Pad between the legs with a blanket or similar. • ‘Buddy’ splint the injured leg to the uninjured leg with bandages. • Avoid passing a bandage directly over the injury. lower arm splint
