uterus – Also called the womb. The muscular structure where the baby develops from conception to birth. vagina – The muscular passage that the fetus passes through during birth. verbal response – When a patient vocally answers verbal stimuli. vital signs – The patient’s level of consciousness, breathing rate, heart rate, skin condition, and body temperature.
