Take Precautions Take standard precautions. Use gloves, a mask, and eye protection as appropriate (See Precautions and Personal Protection – pg. 7). At a minimum, gloves should be worn for any patient contact. Remember that gloves, or any other barrier device, may be contaminated with an infectious agent after they have been in contact with a patient.
