Two Person Log Roll with Spinal Motion Restriction 1. Start with one first aider protecting the c-spine by maintaining the head in a neutral, in line position. Position patient’s near arm above their head and place their far arm alongside their body. Grasp the patient at the far shoulder and waist. The person at the head has the count “On 3 we roll - 1 - 2 - 3 roll” 2. Smoothly roll the patient towards you, maintaining the head and c-spine in a neutral, in line position. 3. Check the patient’s back. 4. Carefully lower the patient back to the ground, positioning their head and neck in a neutral position, in line with the body. Proceed with your assessment while one first aider protects the c-spine by maintaining the head in a neutral, in line position.
