Infant CPR Cycle Chest compressions: 30 for every 2 breaths at a rate of 100- 120 compressions per minute. Rescue Breaths: 2 • Kneel next to the patient and place two fingers on the centre of their chest, over the breastbone. • Press your fingers straight down at least 1/3 the depth of the chest 4 cm (1.5 inches). • Release the pressure of your fingers, allowing the chest to rise completely. • Give 30 compressions at a rate of at least 100-120 compressions per minute. Push hard and fast. Maintain an even rate/rhythm. • Open the airway and give two rescue breaths. • Follow procedure for summoning help if alone. • Repeat the cycle of 30:2 compressions and rescue breaths until an AED is attached, medical help takes over, or you are too exhausted to continue.
