Premergency First Aid, CPR and AED Manual
7 Bleeding, Wound Care and Trauma
When Applying Bandages Any bandage that secures the dressing, maintains pressure as needed, and does not cut off perfusion below the wound is a good bandage. Practicing your bandaging, as becoming proficient in your technique is the mark of a good first aider. Use of commercial bandages is the first choice but most bandages can be improvised. Remember to use the cleanest material available when bandaging a wound.
