SKILL
Glove Removal Technique Proper glove removal is a critical skill to avoid contamination by possible infectious agents. Check your local protocols regarding safe disposal. In many cases this will mean giving them to EMS personnel. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and running water after removing gloves or use a hand sanitizer as an interim measure until you have access to proper facilities. 1. Partially remove the first glove by pinching at the wrist. Be careful to touch only the outside of the glove. 2. Remove the second glove by pinching the exterior with the partially gloved hand. 3. Pull the second glove inside out towards the fingertips. 4. Grasp both gloves with your free hand, touching only the clean interior surface. Dispose of gloves properly and wash hands when possible.
